The recent incident of a devastating fire that engulfed a textile and clothing store, named Lucky Textiles and Sanyam Collection, located at Bohra Masjid Chowk in Guna City, has brought forth grave concerns. The fire, which occurred during the night of November 15-16, 2023, resulted in damages exceeding a staggering crore rupees.

Upon receiving a report from the complainant, Vinod Kumar Jain, a resident of Chaudhary Colony in Guna, the Guna Kotwali police initiated a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire. Senior Police Superintendent, Mr. Vijay Kumar Khatri, directed a meticulous examination of the entire sequence of events related to the fire incident.

Following this directive, under the guidance of CSP Guna, Ms. Shweta Gupta, the police inspector Anoop Kumar Bhargava along with his team meticulously scrutinised CCTV footage and conducted an extensive investigation around the incident site. Subsequently, the investigation pointed towards the involvement of Ghanashyam Panwar (Rajput), a resident of Batasha Gali, Guna, in connection with the fire incident.

Consequently, on November 19, 2023, a case was registered under Section 436 of the IPC against the accused Ghanashyam Singh Panwar (Rajput), aged 30 years, and a thorough search was launched to apprehend him. The same night, Ghanashyam Singh Panwar (Rajput) was arrested from Batasha Gali, Guna, and produced before the honourable court on November 20, 2023. The court remanded him to police custody for further questioning regarding his involvement in the fire incident.The commendable efforts of the Guna Kotwali police team led by Inspector Anoop Kumar Bhargava, Deputy Inspector Sandeep Yadav, Deputy Inspector Ravinandan Sharma, Deputy Inspector Abhishek Tiwari, Constable Dhirendra Gurjar, Constable Sanjay Jat, Constable Nilesh Raghuwanshi, and Constable Deepak Sharma played a pivotal role in this notable investigation. This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to fire safety measures, especially for businesses operating in congested areas. The repercussions of inadequate fire safety arrangements can be catastrophic, not only causing significant financial losses but also risking lives. It’s crucial for commercial establishments to prioritise fire safety protocols, including regular fire drills, functional fire extinguishers, and adherence to building codes, to prevent such tragic occurrences. We urge everyone, especially business owners, to prioritise fire safety measures, undergo regular safety audits, and collaborate with local authorities to ensure the safety of lives and property.
